- # Acronym Definitions:
- #
- # MASK path: Filename mask isolating the processable SGDB files. This mask
- # may include wildcards and drive/directory structure information
- # (ex. C:\bcast\data\*.dly). Also modifiable from within BCAST.
- #
- # GRAPHSTEP nn: The number of days (nn) to shift graphs forward or backward
- # when using the PAGE-UP and PAGE-DOWN keys in BCAST.
- #
- # CYCLES nn : Used only by KGRAPH (where "nn" is either "27" or "28") to
- # determine whether to use 27 or 28 day cycles when plotting the
- # high-density geomagnetic data. This sets the default used by
- # KGRAPH. If CYCLES is absent, KGRAPH defaults to 27-day cycles.
- #
- # SHIFT-ON : Used by KGRAPH in the high-density data plots to shift the
- # screen data so that the last day plotted is 14-days from the
- # right of the screen. This aids in identifying recurrent
- # periods of activity. This acronym sets the default for KGRAPH.
- #
- # SHIFT-OFF: Forces KGRAPH to plot eight full solar rotations of data in
- # the high-density data plots. If neither of these SHIFT
- # acronyms are present, KGRAPH uses "SHIFT-OFF" as the default.
- #
- # GIF-FILENAME: Specifies the file name used to store screen images saved in
- # the GIF image format (default filename: "screen.gif"). Used
- # by KGRAPH.
- #
- # PS-FILENAME : Specifies the file name used to store screen images saved in
- # a Postscript-compatible file for printing on a laser printer.
- # (Default filename is: "screen.ps".) Used by KGRAPH.
- #
- # IMAGE-COLOR : (or, "IMAGE-COLOUR" - either will work) Forces KGRAPH to
- # convert VGA-graphics screens to full-color GIF or Postscript
- # image files (using GIF-FILENAME, or PS-FILENAME).
- #
- # IMAGE-NOCOLOR:(or, "IMAGE-NOCOLOUR" - either will work) Forces KGRAPH to
- # convert full-color screens to black and white mono images
- # (black background, white foreground) for either GIF or
- # Postscript created screen images.
- #
- # IMAGE-INVERSE:Forces KGRAPH to convert full-color screens to black and
- # white mono images, with a white background and black
- # foreground. This is useful for printing out screen images
- # using printers with only two tones. The IMAGE-NOCOLOR
- # acronym must appear in the initialization file before
- # this acronym, for the inversion to work.
- #
- # IMAGE-NOINVERSE: Forces KGRAPH to disable the inversion of GIF or
- # Postscript-created screen images. This is the reverse of
- # IMAGE-INVERSE and is also the default employed by KGRAPH.
- #
- # AINDEX-SHOW : When viewing the high-density geomagnetic K-index data in
- # KGRAPH, this acronym forces KGRAPH to display A-indices
- # instead of (in place of) the dates. This option can be
- # toggled on and off by pressing the "A" (for "A"-Indices) key
- # while viewing the high-density graphs.
- #
- # AINDEX-NOSHOW:Forces KGRAPH to display dates instead of A-indices.
- #
- # Additional acronyms may be added in future releases of BCAST.
